‘Pantomime’ comedy by an Austrian artist in Patan

Kathmandu. Austrian artists Mariana de Meo and Roman Maria Muller have presented a comedy called ‘Pantomime’ in Kathmandu. This genre, which is considered a powerful genre of comedy, is especially popular in European countries.

They presented their art at a function held at the Patan Museum. The program was organized by the Austrian Embassy in New Delhi with the aim of strengthening people-to-people relations between the two countries through art and culture and strengthening the mutual understanding between Nepal and Austria.

This cultural initiative is expected to add a new dimension to the strong relationship between Nepal and Austria. “It flourishes not only through diplomatic, political and economic relations, but also through cultural exchanges, building understanding and strengthening friendship between countries,” said Rajesh Babu Shrestha, unpaid consul of Austria for Nepal.

He also said that such programs will play an important role in increasing knowledge about each other’s cultural identity and will reflect the commitment of friendly country Austria towards friendship with Nepal. Michael Paul, Director of the Embassy’s Cultural Forum, and his wife, Irena Paul, also participated in the ceremony.

In pantomime comedy, the story is told through the facial expressions and body movements of the actors. The embassy said that it will continue such programs under the cultural exchange program.
