Kathmandu. Puerto Rico’s Daniel Mejia has been declared the new Mr. World. On Saturday night, the country won the title for the first time in this prestigious competition for the men’s beauty pageant held in Vietnam.
The 27-year-old singer and model beat more than 70 men to win the prestigious title. Last year’s winner Jack Heslewood of England crowned the new winner.
Being the best in the sports category, he entered the top 20. He also won the ‘Talent Competition’.
Nepal was eliminated from the competition before the announcement of the final 20. Santosh Lexam represented Nepal in the competition.
Nepal has been disappointed in all international beauty pageants for men and women this year. In Miss Earth, Miss International, Miss Universe and Mr. World, Nepal could not even make it to the last 20. The date and venue of this year’s Miss World is yet to be announced.
