Kathmandu. The Movie Association, the umbrella organization of the exhibitors, has objected to the fact that some distributors are demanding unreasonable minimum guarantee (MG) and fix from cinema halls outside Kathmandu Valley.
The union issued a statement on Monday and warned that action will be taken if such actions are not stopped. The organization has mentioned that there is a universal principle and value of business that should be transacted in proportion to the amount of business that the film does.
The organization is preparing to call the distributor who complained about the unreasonable demand of MG by the distributor from the exhibitor. ‘Otherwise, we would like to inform you that the self-distributing organization will be responsible for the steps taken by the Nepal Film Association’, said in a statement released by General Secretary Surendra Thapa.
The association has also mentioned the example of the then government, when the unreasonable MG provision was made even in the tax, even the court dismissed it. There have been a lot of complaints about this, especially from the Mofsal hall. We will call the concerned distributor and ask for an explanation.
