Kathmandu. After some distributors demanded an impractical minimum guarantee (MG) and fix from Mofusalka halls, the umbrella body of the exhibitors, Film Association, has warned to stop this action.
The union issued a statement on Monday and warned that action will be taken if such actions are not stopped. The organization has mentioned that there is a universal principle and value of business that should be transacted in the same proportion as the film does business.
The organization is preparing to call the distributor who has received the complaint and hold a discussion as the complaint has come to the organization from the exhibitor that the distributor is asking for an impractical MG. ‘Otherwise, we inform you that the self-distributing organization will be responsible for the steps taken by the Nepal Film Association’, said in a statement issued by General Secretary Surendra Thapa.
The association has also mentioned that when the government of that time made provision for impractical MG even in taxes, even the court rejected it. There have been a lot of complaints about this, especially from the Mofusal hall. We will call the concerned distributor and ask for clarification’ said Thapa, who is also the spokesperson, ‘We are committed to stop such illegal activities.
