The film ‘Poorna Bahadur Ko Sarangi’ is currently at the peak of discussion. The story of a poor father’s struggle for the future of his children has touched the hearts of many. It has made it emotional, it has made it thought-provoking.
‘Poorna Bahadur Ko Sarangi’ is a melody of conflict and struggle. In it there is a movement made by Purna Bahadur of a poor Gandharva community for the education of his son. Similarly, there are stories of protests by other characters in the film.
Poorna Bahadur’s neighbor brother tells him not to leave his ancestral tradition and profession, but he decides to leave his son anyway by educating him. Which the audience has taken as the duty of a good parent. Purna Bahadur’s movement should probably be considered successful.
In the film, there is also the movement of ‘Master Saab’, which is said to be against the system itself. Master Saab, who has not only lit the lamp of education, has also been shown doing underground movements for democracy and system change. He also believes that children of ‘higher’ castes including himself should be educated, but children of Gandharvas should not be educated, and should not even wear school uniforms. His personal Rabaiya shows that desires must be crushed by compulsions and the poor and weak must compromise with fate.
Master Saab has been placed in the role of ‘Kathni and Karni’, who is different from the dual character of “Kathni and Karni” who is protesting that it is wrong to keep the feudal culture that children like Purna Bahadur, who represented the poor, weak, and those who earn a living by playing sarangi, should not be given the opportunity to read and advance. I understood that Master Saab has done the character of our current leaders who have a feudal mindset, who use the power of power for themselves and theirs, but show that they have made a movement for the people.
Education changes the future, it is the duty of parents to give their children the opportunity to read. This is the most important aspect of the film. It has been tried to show that Batuli’s association with Harke is for the purpose of not being able to eat his son by playing sarangi or simply begging him. She did not go to Poila with Herke, her aim was to work in the city and educate her son. But the illiterate Batuli did not know how to write a letter to Poorne herself. Harke, who loved each other, made a bet and wrote a letter saying that he had gone to Poil with him. It has made it clear that education is not only for job or respect, but also a necessity.
Not only this, Purna Bahadur did not know how to read the letter that said that his son was coming home as a doctor. How important is education? It made many people’s eyes tear up. Even if you have studied only two classes, it is necessary. This poignant view of the story makes it clear that it is essential to read.
In the story, Purna Bahadur is depicted from the father’s side. In Purna Bahadur’s eyes, Batuli has shown that she has cheated, although Batuli has left home for her son’s bright future. Purna Bahadur does not know this truth, so Batuli is ugly in his eyes. But good children do not find fault with their mother and father. They seek the respect of their parents. Parents do not blame them for not being able to buy good clothes, for giving them old clothes, for not being able to send them to school or for not fulfilling other needs. He feels sad when his father is insulted and tries his best to fulfill his dream by being their helper. This is the main message of the story.
Even small things have been given a place in the film. If one made a little progress, one would be jealous of one’s own. This tendency to envy has taken root in Nepali society. And, it has been successfully taken down. It is very good until Poorna Bahadur’s son reads it, but when he starts reading, it is portrayed with such fun that even his neighbor like his brother is jealous. Jealousy has increased so much that it has been shown that even if he studied medicine, he could not even hear.
Perhaps ‘Sarangi’ must have tried to convey this message. Many people were shocked by the feeling of the story or the presentation. But if the children who understand the message and fulfill the dreams of their parents tighten their belts and the parents are sensitive to the future of their children, the society would definitely be formed.
