National Film Award for Best Commercial Film for ‘Jari’

Kathmandu. The film ‘Jari’ released in 2080 was awarded as the highest grossing film last year by the Film Development Board. President Ramchandra Paudel presented the award to producer Rambabu Gurung at a ceremony held at Sheetal Niwas on Wednesday.

Bansuri Films’ social drama ‘Jari’ has won the best commercial film category at the National Film Awards. From this year, the highest grossing films have been awarded.

According to the box office data of the Film Development Board, ‘Jari’ earned a gross of Rs 17 crore 17 lakh. He had sold 6 lakh 19 thousand tickets.

Bansuri Films received this award while preparing for the second series of ‘Jari’ in 2025. ‘The award has added energy for the production of the second series’, producer Gurung told Online News after receiving the award from the President.

This year’s all-time blockbuster film ‘Poorna Bahadur Ko Sarangi’ was also made in collaboration with Bansuri Films. Representatives of Bansuri Films and Seven Seasons were sitting in a wave of the ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
