Kathmandu. Two tribal films including ‘Sati Devi’ have been declared special films of the year 2080. President Ramchandra Poudel presented the award at a ceremony held at Sheetal Niwas on Wednesday.
The film ‘Sati Devi’ directed by Laxman Subedi, which conveys the message of the importance of daughters in the society, was declared a special film for the Nepali language. ‘Sugup’ in Limbu language and ‘Martali’ in Gurung language were also declared special films.
Along with being declared as a special film, all the three films have received two lakhs of rupees. According to the Film Development Board, cash prizes will be given for subtitling of films.
A special film award was given at a ceremony organized in connection with the National Film Awards.
