Sequel to ‘Slumdog Millionaire’

Kathmandu. The film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ directed by Danny Boyle was released in 2008. This film won 8 awards at the 81st Oscar Awards. 7 BAFTA awards are under its belt.

Now there is good news for the fans. The talk of making a sequel to this film has started in the international media. Bridge Seven, a company founded by ex-Netflix executive Swati Shetty and ex-CAA agent Grant Cashman, has bought the film’s ‘sequel’ and TV rights.

The rights were bought from UK-based Solador, which invested in the production of the 2008 Oscar-winning film along with Film Four.

Directed by Danny Boyle, this film is based on Vikas Swaroop’s book ‘Q&A’. ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ written by Simon Beaufoy is the story of 18-year-old Jamal. This character was played by Dev Patel.

The film closely depicts the difficult life of Mumbai’s slums. Because of this, Jamal got the answer he needed to win the ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ quiz show.

It is not clear whether Dev Patel, Frida Pinto and other old actors will not be in the sequel. It will be interesting to see whether Patel becomes a part of the next chapter of Jamal’s life or not. It is said that fans will hear good news soon.
