Narayan Gopal Smriti Samman will be awarded to Thapa, Mukarung and Basnet

Kathmandu. The 34th anniversary of Swarsamrat Narayan Gopal is being celebrated on November 19. On the occasion of the annual Memorial Day, the Narayan Gopal Music Fund presents the ‘Narayan Gopal Smriti Samman 2081’.

Artists who have made significant contributions to Nepali music are honored annually. Lyricist Shivshankar Thapa, music composer Bulu Mukarung and singer Kumar Basnet will be honored with a copper plate and dosalla along with a cash prize of Rs 51,000 in the ceremony to be held at the hall of Pragya Pratishthan in Kamaladi.

Various singers will remember Narayan Gopal’s Kaljayi song in the program. According to the fund, the songs of Narayan Gopal will be presented in the voice of new and old singers with a full orchestra.

Narayan Gopal was born on October 18, 1996 in Kilagal, Kathmandu and passed away on November 19, 2047. In 2017, Manikaratna was established by Radio Nepal and dozens of his songs passed the vocal test by singing in the music of Premadhwaj Pradhan.
