Kathmandu. The Nepali film ‘Shambala’ has won the ‘UNESCO Cultural Diversity Award’, an important category of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards held in Australia.
It has been mentioned on the website that the ‘Asia Pacific Screen Award’ awarded the film directed by Meen Bahadur Bham for contributing to the preservation of culture through the film.
This year, ‘Shambala’, which was also recommended in the international feature category of the Oscars from Nepal, presents the story of the culture and life of Upper Dolpa. The film had its world premiere in Berlin.
Director Bham accepted the award at the ceremony. He also participated in the discussion session on ‘Culture preservation through film’ and ‘Case study on Shambala’ organized during the award.
After winning the award, Bham said that the film’s honor means a lot to him. I am truly honored to receive this award. This award means a lot to me’, he said in a video message, ‘It reflects the beauty of our differences and the strength to embrace them. I am connected with Nepal. I truly believe that our stories are important to understanding each other. This award celebrates the rich opportunities for voices in our world.’
