Kathmandu. The Nepal Movie Association, the umbrella organization of the exhibitors, has announced that the film production company Seven Seas Cinema will not screen any film produced and distributed from now on.
The association has issued a statement on Monday and stated that the opinion should be made clear to the association. It is mentioned that its members will not screen any film distributed and produced by the said company until the opinion is clarified.
Making it clear that all the rights to screen the movie in the movie house or not are vested in the distributor, the association has also expressed its regret that the Seven Seas has repeatedly dehumanized the members of the association through its statement. It is also mentioned in the statement that the union will not tolerate the act of killing people.
It is said that this decision of the Film Association will not be applicable in the case of ‘Poorna Bahadur’s Sarangi’. “From now on, the decision will apply to films made and distributed by Seven Seas,” said an official.
Last Saturday, Seven Seas Cinema unilaterally decided to screen the movie ‘Poorna Bahadur Ko Sarangi’ in the hall. The film is currently running as the distributor has decided to continue the screening of the film in response to the decision of Seven Seas.
Seven Seas Cinema also issued a statement on Monday and said that the notification of November 22 has been corrected.
