Abhaya Subba during Pokhara tour
Kathmandu. Abhaya Subba, the singer of the Nepali rock band ‘Abhaya and Steam Engines’, is going to take a ‘break’ from music. She has informed her fans about this through social media.
She wrote, ‘I am taking a break from music. I never thought that sometimes even a passion can overwhelm me. In the meantime, I will just travel and try to find other resolutions besides music.’

Abhaya is a well-known name in the Nepali rock band genre. The sweetness of mixing rock with Nepali folklore can be heard in his songs. His band ‘Abhaya and Steam Engines’ released songs like ‘Badal’ and ‘Attinja Kin’ in 2024.
She is also the founder of Women in Concert, a women’s music program that creates a safe environment for new female musicians. Lately, she was also busy with ‘Woman in Concert’. Abhaya was also the judge of the first season of Voice of Nepal.
