Sougat Mall about the film ‘Bam Bahadur’: The audience will see their own story in it

Kathmandu. A press conference was held in Itahari on Sunday for the movie ‘Bam Bahadur’ which is going to be released simultaneously in Nepal and India from 5th of January. The director, producer and artist participated on the occasion.

Actors shared their experiences at the ceremony, which was attended by journalists active in Eastern Nepal and Nepali language media journalists from Darjeeling, Siliguri, etc. During this, actor Saugat Malla expressed his belief that it feels like his own and that it will win the hearts of the audience.

The film ‘Bam Bahadur’ has shown the ups and downs of human life in the background of the Gorkhaland movement in Darjeeling in 1986. It was told in a press conference that it poignantly depicts the moments of struggle of the Nepali people of India, especially the Nepali community living in the Darjeeling hills and neighboring areas of Dooars.

Writer and director John Rai said that the purpose of making the film is to not forget our history. Highlighting the importance of the film, Rai said, ‘Another objective is that there should be no such kind of movement anymore. We want to create a different type of educated society and we want to protest with our brains and not with guns and guns.’

Actor Malla said that the audience will see their own story in the film. Thanks to the director-producer for trusting me and choosing me for this role. When I read the script, I felt like it was my own story,’ he said, ‘I was very emotional and immediately I did not take much time to think that I would work on this story. Anyone who lives in Nepal, who watches this movie, feels that its story is their own.’

He further said, ‘How can this story be woven? We believe that this movie will win everyone’s hearts because it is good. My character is interesting, perhaps I have not worked in such a character yet.’

Actress Anisha Rasaili said that this film will highlight the fact that we all have one story. ‘Being from Sikkim, I didn’t have much idea when I started shooting this film, it was scary to hear the stories of people who had faced problems in the old times in that location. My request is that you must watch this film and feel that pain. We are all one,” said Rasaili.

Artist Shantila Tamang said that she has high hopes from this film. A resident of Darjeeling, she said, ‘When Nepal suffers, we also suffer. The story that we have picked up in the movie will surely touch the Nepali people.’
