Kathmandu. A theoretical agreement has been reached between the exhibition organization Movie Association and the Producers Association to screen only two Nepali films in a week. The working group of these two organizations discussed on Tuesday.

Uday Subba, chairman of the working group on behalf of the Producers Association, said that there was a discussion about allowing only two films to be released in a week. He informed that the meeting that will be held next week will decide on how to run only two films a week.

It was seen that if more than 2 films come in a week, both the producer and the halwala will suffer losses. Discussions are going on to resolve this by releasing only 2 a week from now on. It will be decided next week,” said Subba, “but we did not understand it as a Q system only.”

Based on the date of censoring, the film is ready to be released. If this agreement is reached, the two working groups hope that the trend of occupying the date without producing the film will stop. “There should have been a censor first and it is a matter of letting it be released only on the basis of the date,” said Subba.

Subba says that if there is an agreement, this decision will apply to the members of both organizations. What about the members of both organizations? Subba says, ‘In such a situation, it is the decision of the film association to decide which film to show or not to show in its hall.’

Subba also said that they are determined to implement the agreement to release 2 films in a week, which was previously agreed between the working group. If this decision is made, many films that have already announced their release will have to postpone their release dates.
