Gorkhaland’s story ‘Bam Bahadur’ and Hollywood’s ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ in theaters

Kathmandu. Two new films have been screened in theaters in Nepal since Friday. Saugat Mall starrer ‘Bam Bahadur’ and Hollywood’s awaited ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ have been released.

The runtime of ‘Bam Bahadur’ is 130 minutes and the certificate is PG. The ups and downs of human life have been captured in the film against the backdrop of the Gorkhaland movement in Darjeeling in 1986. It tells the story of the environment of the Nepali-speaking people of India, especially the Darjeeling hills and neighboring areas of Duwars.

Directed by John Rai, the film stars Prashant Rai, Anisha Rasaili and Shantila Tamang along with Saugat.

Hollywood’s ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ has also been screened since Friday. This Walt Disney film has a Nepali runtime of 118 minutes and a certificate of PG. Directed by Berry Jenkins, the film is placed in the musical drama, action adventure genre.

After becoming the king of his land, Simba is determined to follow in the footsteps of his late father Mufasa. This film revolves around this story.

Currently, India’s ‘Pushpa 2’, Hollywood’s ‘Moana 2’, Nepal’s ‘Poorna Bahadur Ko Sarangi’ and ‘Telbhisa’ are being screened in Nepal.
