Kathmandu. Vijay Sethupathi starrer Tamil film ‘Maharaja’ earned aggressively at the Indian box office. It was released on June 14 and managed to earn well worldwide.
Directed by Anurag Kashyap, this film was recently released in China. The film set a record there. ‘Maharaja’ has become the highest grossing South Indian film in China. Earlier this record was in the name of ‘Baahubali’ directed by SS Rajamouli. It has also become the 10th highest grossing film at the Chinese box office.
The film has earned 76.50 crores in China for 21 days of release. The blockbuster film ‘Baahubali 2’ released in 2018 had a lifetime collection of 64 crores in China.
According to the Indian media, it is estimated that ‘Maharajale’ will cross the mark of 100 crores in China due to the success of the film. China’s trade is projected to benefit Japan, another major international market.
‘Maharaja’ stars Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas and Natarajan Subramaniam in lead roles along with Vijay Sethupathi.
