India to host ‘World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit’

Kathmandu. India is going to host the ‘World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit’ for the first time in February 2025. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to hold such a conference in the background of India becoming the biggest market in the world in the field of film, music and OTT.

The summit, which is scheduled to be held from February 5 to 9, is said to provide a platform for global media and entertainment leaders as well as creative minds from around the world to discuss India’s growing dominance in collaboration, innovation and global content creation.

Prime Minister Modi said this in his monthly radio address ‘Manki Baat’ on Sunday. He hoped that the summit would play an important role in establishing India as a global hub for the creative and content production industry.

Emphasizing the importance of the summit in India’s wider economic context, Modi said it would be in line with the country’s ambition to become a five trillion dollar economy. “This summit is an important step to make India the hub of global content creation,” he said.

Prime Minister Modi said that the role of India’s youth is crucial in shaping the future of the creative industry. He encouraged young creators and professionals from all sectors of media and entertainment, be it Bollywood, regional cinema, animation, gaming or entertainment technology, to participate in the summit and share their ideas and innovations with the world.

“Whether you are a young content creator or an established artist, associated with Bollywood or regional cinema, a professional in the TV industry, an expert in animation, gaming or an innovator in entertainment technology, I urge you all to participate in this summit,” PM Modi said.

The summit is expected to attract global attention.
