Kathmandu. The popular folk pop band Kandara has started their international musical tour by performing at the Otoo Arena in London. In the arena with a capacity of more than 2,700 spectators, Kandara captivated the audience with popular songs.

Otu Arena was packed to hear Kandara. In the past, many world-famous artists and bands have performed in the arena, where Nepali musical group Kandara has performed. In the cold of London covered in snow, the audience felt the warmth of the music of the beloved band established in the 90s.

In the concert which started with the performance of Swapn Suman and his band, Kandara entertained the audience as the evening wore on. The audience danced to the band’s famous songs. Vivek Shrestha, leader of Kandara, entertained the audience with one hit song after another.

Audiences from other European countries also reached Otu Arena to listen to Kandra. Many viewers were watching Kandara’s first foreign concert live on social media. Mamaghar Entertainment UK, founded by Bimal Timalsina, organized the concert.

Kandra has Vivek on vocals along with Sunil Thapa on drums, Dev Lama on lead guitar, Pankaj Jha on bass guitar, Avinash singer on madal and Umesh Thapa on keyboard.

What does lead vocalist Vivek say?

The band’s lead singer Vivek Shrestha said the concert was an unprecedented success. ‘The way the Nepalese community has become one is unprecedented,’ he said.

Sharing his experience of living in the UK for a long time and serving the community there, he said that he was happy to perform in such a dream place like Otu Arena.

We used to see veteran artists perform at Otu Arena. The audience thanked the organizers and Kandara for making their dreams come true with the performance of our own Nepali artists, said Vivek.

He said that he felt that Nepali music can dominate the international market at the London concert. “When I performed in London earlier in 2001, 200-300 people came. The concert in Otu showed the evolution of Nepali music. The change in seeing and hearing was evident,’ he said.
