Kathmandu. The controversy between ‘The Outsiders Nepal’ band and singer Samita Limbu has heated up over the ownership and royalty dispute of the song. Limbu is also the former singer of the band.
The band released the song ‘Maila’ on YouTube in collaboration with Purvanchal Rocks on 7th October 2079. After the singer re-released the song on December 27 saying that she owns the song and has not received royalties, accusations are being made between the two parties.
Limbu alleged that she was not given creative credit as the lyricist and composer of the song. He insists that he has not received the royalties.
In such a situation, the band has issued a statement and tried to refute the allegations of the former singer. Expressing objection to the accusation, the band said that it has been noticed. The group has also stated that the band has not yet received the amount in the title of royalty and revenue.
“There has been a well-planned attempt to defame this musical group by writing untrue and misleading things for cheap popularity,” the group said in a statement. The song ‘Myla’ lyrics released by the band two years ago has been viewed 13.5 million times.
