Kathmandu. The popular Nepali folk pop band Kandara is currently on a world tour. The band gave a historic performance at the famous Ottu Arena in the UK last week.
The band was then scheduled to perform in Dubai, UAE on January 11 and Abu Dhabi on January 12. However, Kandara has informed through a statement that the scheduled concert has been postponed. A new date for the concert has been announced on Friday.
Now this popular band will be playing in Dubai, UAE, where the Nepali community is densely populated, on January 18. The band is going to perform at SK Seven club in Bardubai. The concert was organized by UBOC Hospitality.
The Abu Dhabi concert has been cancelled. A day before performing in the UAE, the band will perform in Qatar, where Nepali workers live, on January 17. All the preparations for the Qatar concert have been completed.
Now Kandara is on a world tour with the slogan ‘Phila Ghardesh Ani Pardesh’. After Qatar, the band is scheduled to perform in Hong Kong. After that, they will perform in Australia and New Zealand in March-April, America in May, Canada in June, Europe in July-August, and Japan in August-September.
Kandra’s current lineup consists of Vivek Shrestha on vocals, Sunil Thapa on drums, Dev Lama on lead guitar, Pankaj Jha on bass guitar, Avinash singer on Madal and Umesh Thapa on keyboard. The band is going to do a world tour throughout 2025 as a 32-year musical celebration.
The band has already performed in Pokhara and Kathmandu.
