Kathmandu. Paka director Tulsi Ghimire has officially announced the upcoming feature ‘Pahad’ on Tuesday. On the occasion of Maghe Sakranti, the ‘official title’ of the film has also been announced.
The title released in video style has a mixture of mountains and soil colors. It can be understood that the plot of the film is a high mountain without human habitation. The color of the soil creates a visual psychology.
The film is written and directed by Ghimire and is being produced by Ojaswi KC. It will be shot by Pramod Pradhan, who has been shooting in many famous Bollywood films and series and Nepali films.
Pradhan has also filmed Injustice, Tilhari, Chino, Dakshin and Ranko. He is the brother of famous cinematographer Vinod Pradhan. He has returned to shooting Nepali films after 3 decades.
The film will have music by Ranjit Gajmer. Rimpoche Lama, Thing & Suresh and Lama Thing will be the co-producers. Bharti Ghimire will be the creative director. The Nepalese distributor of the film will be Banktase Entertainment and the international distributor will be Seven Seas International.
The film is going to be produced under the banner of Bhagyaratna Films. Director Ghimire is currently in Gorkha for location scouting. Filming has started since January 14. The line-up of the artists is set to be announced in the coming weekend. It has been confirmed that his younger daughter Panchami will make her debut with this film.
Along with Arun and Panchami, Madankrishna Shrestha, Bipin Karki, Sunil Thapa have already signed the cast of the film. Priyanka Karki is also rumored to be doing the film. This film will portray the story of how the mountains become empty when young people migrate abroad and the social and economic problems it brings.
