Bangladesh bans Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’

Kathmandu. The controversy over Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film ‘Emergency’ is not over. After many controversies, the film got the certificate from the Indian Censor Board and the film is going to be screened from Friday.

Bangladesh banned the film two days before its release. According to media reports, this decision was taken due to the ongoing tension between India and Bangladesh.

According to ANI quoting sources close to the film, Dhaka has decided to ban the screening. In the situation after the removal of the old power of Bangladesh, the relations between the two neighboring countries, Bangladesh and India, are now tense. This ban is less about the plot of the film and more because of the political relationship between the two countries.

One of the reasons for banning the film in Bangladesh is that the film depicts the assassination of freedom fighter and Bangladesh’s first president, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who is known as the father of Bangladesh.

He played an important role in the partition of Bangladesh and Pakistan. In the film, it is shown that he was killed by a group of Bangladeshi extremists, due to which its release in Bangladesh was affected.

The film is about the tenure of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the emergency imposed in 1975. Kangana Ranaut plays the role of Indira Gandhi in the film.
