Kathmandu. Many people ask actor Harivansh Acharya, were you born in Kavre? His answer to this question that often comes is – No, I was conceived in Kavre and born in Kathmandu.
However, now the 66-year-old Acharya wants to spend the rest of his life in Kavre. After reaching 70 years of age, he is thinking of migrating to his ancestral place of Kavre and making citizenship there.
At a function organized to release cardiologist Rajendra Koju’s book ‘Mutuko Katha’, Harivansh said that he is thinking of returning to the village after turning 70. His ancestral home is in Dhulikhel Municipality-12 of Kavre.
It has been 70 years since the fathers migrated from there. I am also thinking of moving there after 70 years. I feel prouder than the people of Kavre. The citizenship is from Kathmandu, I am thinking whether I should change it and live in Kavre or make the citizenship there,” he said.
He clarified that he was born in Kathmandu and said, ‘I was born in Kavre, but I was born in Kathmandu. Kavre’s climate, rice, millet, rice have become the meat of my life. I want to carry the place of my ancestors with all my heart.’
‘Understood life from Jayanepal Secondary School’
Harivansh, who is also the author of the famous book ‘China Missing People’, said that books are more important than movies and plays. ‘Books cannot be compared with movies and plays. The technology of the world can be destroyed, the data recorded in the satellite can be deleted. What is written in the book cannot be erased’, he was heard in the book’s speech.
He said that books are his round the clock companion. ‘Some people come to the house and go. The book comes to my house round the clock. It can be placed on my head, it can also be placed on my head. Can be placed anywhere. “The best friend is a book,” he said.
He said that Bhairav Aryal’s comic books inspired him to move forward in the field of comics. He remembered that he had a habit of not studying in school after doing self-study. ‘I am a person who reads so much but does not study in school. In my work – I have to read, I have to not read’, he says, ‘I was considered the most illiterate person in school. I was considered the most useless.’
He said that he understood more about life from the movie house than school. I was taught by Rajesh Khanna, Helen Miss, Hema Malini in Ranjana Secondary School, Jayanepal Secondary School. He used to explain. I have moved on in life with what I learned there. What they taught started to enter my mind,’ he said.
Harivansh says that Rajendra Koju’s book ‘Mutuko Katha’ is the best birthday present.
‘Being an actor is better than being a doctor’
Harivansh quipped that being an actor is more beneficial than being a doctor. ‘When you are a doctor, you are only a doctor. Being an actor can also be a doctor, an engineer and a thief. “I have been the most thief, leader and gentleman,” he said.
Even now, you have to read a lot when writing scripts for movies and TV shows. We have also made several telefilms on HIV AIDS, Tuberculosis and Environment. When making it, while writing the script, you have to read it first,” he said.
He said that he is better than an unannounced doctor. ‘You can’t write a script if you don’t know that thing by reading it. That’s why I know a lot about heart disease, diabetes, HIV AIDS. That is why I am called an unannounced doctor. I have also played as a doctor in a TV movie.
He said that being an actor is more beneficial than being a doctor. Being an actor can be a doctor, an engineer and a thief. I have been the most thief, leader and gentleman.’
He said that the moment of losing his life partner Meera was the saddest moment of his life. At that moment, Rabindra Sameer inspired me to write the book. And I was able to find the missing person in the market. So far, more than 100,000 pieces have been sold in the market, he said.
