The names of filmmaker-actor Dhanush and actress Nayantara have been in the news for the past few days. In this dispute, the fans of both have come out in support of their favorite person. There is no end to this debate on social media.
Nayantara is called ‘Lady Superstar’ in Tamil films. She is also the highest paid actress of South films. She has also got the support of other actresses in this matter.
Nayantara has alleged that Dhanush asked her for 10 crore rupees for a 3-second video. In an open letter, she has said a lot about Dhanush.
The controversy started after the trailer of the documentary ‘Nayantara: Beyond the Fairy Tail’ was released on Netflix. This documentary is now on Netflix.
The 3-second video shown in the trailer was made during the shooting of the film ‘Nanum Rowdy Dhan’. A notice was issued to Nayantara after Dhanush, who is also the producer of the film, accused her of using the video without his permission.
However, Dhanush has not given any direct statement regarding Nayantara’s allegations, videos or information. Dhanush’s lawyer Arun has given his opinion on the notice.
The notice says, ‘Nayantara has not denied that the rights of Nanum Rowdy Dhan are with Wonderbar Productions. In such a situation, it is clear that Dhanush has the right to the video footage made during the shooting of the film.’
After the controversy over the 3-second video, many actresses have come out in support of Nayantara. Nayantara has shared an open letter on Instagram and X, in which actresses have liked and commented.
However, some social media users have criticized Nayantara saying that she is doing a publicity stunt for her documentary.

Nayantara says, ‘A 3-second video made personally during the shooting of the film ‘Nanum Rowdy Dhan’ has been used in the trailer of the documentary, about which Dhanush has sent a notice of 10 crore compensation. Which is surprising.’
Nayantara said that well-wishers from the film industry have helped for this documentary. Many of his film memories have also been shown in the documentary.

Nayantara said that she was very angry that she could not even use the film’s song. In her open letter, she has questioned whether the producer has the right to control the freedom and life of the people present on the set.
She also said that she will give a legal reply to the notice given to Dhanush.
In a conversation with the BBC, lawyer Vetrichelbhanle talked about the Copyright Act 1957.
He said, ‘Works related to art and literature can be subject to copyright. Copyright is different for books, music and visuals.’
The lawyer said, ‘In this case, of course, the video was made during the shooting of the film, but according to the law, the filmmaker has the right to it.’
