Kathmandu. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has signed the new song of Nepali folk pop band Kandara which is preparing for release. Vivek Shrestha, the band’s singer, went to the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar, to meet Oli.
The Prime Minister signed Kandara’s new song ‘Hunecha: The Song of Hope’, which is about to be released, and said that he will participate in the band’s concert. ‘I recited the song to the Prime Minister. He was happy. He said Kandara is the band I’m listening to. Lakshmi Prasad Devkota’s poem sung with Sunaulo Bihani’ Vivek told Online News.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister discussed the songs of Kandara band. He said that he heard songs like ‘Hong Kong Pokhara’ and ‘Panchase’ and said that these songs are his favorite. Vivek said, “He also told the story of how he took a grunt from Panchase and gave it to his wife Radhika.”
‘He should not only have taste in music, but should also be knowledgeable’ Vivek continued, ‘I felt strange that the Prime Minister has this knowledge.’
In the meeting, information was given about Kandara’s latest musical tour ‘Ghar to Pardesh’. Vivek said that it would be better if the state took such an initiative as a host.
Kandara’s new song, which is set to release before the English New Year, has lyrics and music by Sunil Thapa. Vivek has voiced. He said that the Prime Minister is taking the initiative to release the song. It is the responsibility of the executive head to give a positive message and take initiative in the country. He said that he will be with him during the meeting,” said Vivek about the meeting.
Vivek said that this song, written in third person style, spreads a positive message of hope. The song has been recorded acoustically without the use of any electronic instruments.
After a long hiatus, Kandara has recently held a grand comeback concert in Pokhara and Kathmandu. The band is preparing to perform in Ilam on 16 February. Concert dates in Butwal and Chitwan are yet to be decided. After January 4, the band will start an international tour.
