Kathmandu. Sonu Nigam’s Kathmandu performance is going to be different from the previous concerts of Indian musicians. Different in the sense that Nigam will sing as many as 5 Nepali songs.
The song that he is certain to sing is the song of his own voice in the movie ‘Simana’ called ‘Ukali Orali Karye’. The sensation of a domestic film is also connected with this hit song of yesteryear. Decades later, Nigam will try to refresh that moment for the Nepali audience through a concert at Hayat Maidan.
His 25-member band along with Nigam will arrive in Kathmandu on Wednesday morning on the day of the concert. The concert will start at 6 pm and Nigam will take the stage at 7 pm.
Nigam and his musical group are scheduled to perform at Hyatt’s Square for at least 3 hours. For the Christmas Day concert, 6,500 tickets have been sold till Sunday. More than 8,500 spectators are expected to participate in the concert, according to the organizer Nepal Touch.
On Thursday, the day after the concert, the corporation is expected to take a mountain flight and visit Pashupatinath and Buddhist Stupa. He is scheduled to return to India in the evening of the same day. After returning to India, he will perform at the English New Year concert.
Abhinas Ghimire, one of the organizers, told Onlinekhabar that ‘his activities will promote Nepal’s tourism’.
All the preparations of the project site are being completed. The stage, light, sound and barrier construction work will be completed by Monday evening. As many as 8 VIP spectators have already booked tables.
