Varun Dhawan’s ‘Baby John’ struggles at the box office

Kathmandu. Bollywood star Varun Dhawan’s new film ‘Baby John’ was warming up when the trailer was released. Dhawan’s first mass entertainer film was expected to bring a boom at the box office. But after getting bad response from the critics on the first day, the mood of the film has deteriorated.

The biggest challenge to ‘Baby John’ has become ‘Pushpa 2’, which has been gathering crowds in the halls for the last three weeks. The opening of the new film ‘Baby John’ on the first day is less than the collection of ‘Pushpa 2’ on the 21st day.

Contrary to expectations, when ‘Baby John’ started getting negative word of mouth, its effect started to be seen at the box office. However, being a mass entertainer during the Christmas season definitely benefited the film. According to Bollywood business analysts, it opened on the first day with a figure of 12 to 13 crores.

It is considered to be Varun’s highest opening after the lockdown. His post-Covid films ‘Jugjug Jio’ and ‘Bhedia’ collected less than 10 crores.

Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa 2’, released on 5th December, is garnering crowds in its third week at the box office. Even on the 21st day of release, Allu Arjun’s film earned more than the new release ‘Baby Zone’. ‘Pushpa 2’ earned 15 crore rupees on that day. After the Christmas collection, the Hindi version of ‘Pushpa 2’ has a net collection of Rs 730 crore.
