Kathmandu. The actors and directors of the film ‘Karsang’ have claimed that it will touch the hearts of the audience as the film is made on a deep subject. In a press conference held in Kathmandu, they argued that the film is a story that will win everyone’s hearts even though it is a story of a particular community and place.
Actor Dayahang Rai said that the film is based on the story of Jhankri of the Sherpa community. He said that he was seen in the role of Jhankri in the film as a character whose economic condition is weak.
‘Jhankri Vidya was a character to know. Had to dance on fire. I was thinking that the movie is cheating. But they were saying that there is no fire after reciting the mantra,’ he said in the press conference, ‘The director also says that nothing much happens. What did you do to me? I said I will try. I entered the fire, I succeeded. They have knowledge.’
He said that due to long experience and efforts, Zhankri Vidya exists. Although everyone easily says that Jhankri Vidya is superstition, he claims that there is some power in it due to long practice and experience. “That’s why I got to have a unique experience in ‘Karsang’ that I have never done before,” he said.
Director Yam Sherpa said, ‘The story itself is good. It touches the hearts of the audience. It makes you emotional and makes you laugh,’ he said.
Actor Jitu Nepal said that the film subject, presentation and acting were good in all respects. He said that when he was abroad, many people asked him about the subject and role of this film.
“It doesn’t matter whether I’m a central character or a supporting character. It’s about how the cinema is and how the acting is,” Jitu said, “I work even when I am the central character. I do it even when I am a supporting character.’
He said that for the actors, the way the work was done, rather than the character, will have meaning in the film.
Debut actress Prashant Ninglekhu said that she tried to give her best. Stating that ‘Karsang’ was her first film, she said, ‘You should watch this film to see how my work is.’
The film, which is being screened from January 26, focuses on a family story based on a rural setting. The film will present the lack, poverty and the cultural narrative of the Sherpa community.
The film also stars Buddhi Tamang, Srishti Gautam, Doma Hyolmo, Prem Lopchan and Surveer Pandit. Produced by Yarsa Films and Purushottam Pradhan Films, this film is produced and cinematographer by Purushottam Pradhan. Govind Bohra is the co-producer.
