Kathmandu. The film ‘Rajaganj’ directed by Deepak Rauniyar, which has been screened at international festivals under the name ‘Pooja Sir’, will be released in theaters in Nepal from Chait 1 (March 14).
The producer has officially announced the performance date by releasing the theatrical poster of the Nepali version on Thursday. The poster depicts 4 leading actors Asha Magrati, Dayahang Rai, Nikita Chandak and Vijay Baral.
The actor is in character looks. It presents the story of the search operation conducted by the police to free two children, including the son of the MP, after they were kidnapped. Magrati has the lead role in this social drama and action film.
This film, which has had its world premiere in Venice, has also been screened at prestigious international festivals like Busan and Mumbai. Richa Sharma, Gaumaya Gurung, Aarti Mandal, Ghanshyam Mishra, Parameshwara Kumar Jha, Pashupati Rai and Neeraj Shrestha are also acting.
After ‘Highway’ and ‘White Sun’, this is director Rauniyar’s third story film. Rauniyar’s first feature film ‘Highway’ premiered in Berlin in 2012. In 2016, another film ‘White Sun’ was awarded in Venice, Palm Springs, Friborg and Singapore festivals.
‘Rajaganj’ was produced by Rauniar and Magrati for Adi Films, Rambabu Gurung for Bansuri Films and Alan R. Milligan for Tanhouser Gate. It has also received financial support from the Sorfond of the Norwegian Film Institute.
