3 Chinese films will be screened at the ‘China Film Day’ in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. With the aim of strengthening cultural relations between Nepal and China, the first edition of ‘China Film Day’ is being organized next Thursday.

China Film Administration, Chinese Embassy, ​​China Film Archive and Nepal Film and Cultural Academy are going to organize the program.

3 Chinese films are scheduled to be screened in the program to be held at QFX’s Chaya Center. It has ‘Her Story’ directed by Yihui Sao as the opening film.

‘Midsummer’s Voice’ directed by UD Zhang and ‘G for Gap’ directed by Fei Long are scheduled to be screened. After the film screening, the producers, directors and actors will interact with the audience. It is said that former Finance Minister Varshman Pun will be the chief guest of the ceremony.

The Chinese tour team of 14 people who are producers, directors and actors of the film to be screened will be led by Su Yang, Director of the International Department of the China Film Administration. This program is expected to further the cooperation between the filmmakers of both countries.

KP Pathak, president of Nepal Film and Cultural Academy, who is one of the organizers, said that the program will be a bridge connecting the vibrant culture of the two countries.

“This is not just a film screening program, but a bridge connecting two vibrant cultures,” he said.

He said that such programs will play a role in strengthening cultural diplomacy and film cooperation between Nepal and China. “It paves the way for co-productions, joint projects and creating a shared story that engages a global audience.” I am confident that this is just the beginning of a new chapter in Nepal-China film relations,’ he said.
