A 42-feet-tall statue of Kali was brought from India to shoot ‘Balidan’

Kathmandu. It is seen that the producer of the film ‘Balidan’ has tried to strengthen the ‘production value’. Director Santosh Sen, who emphasized on style in ‘Larger than Life’, has done the same with the props of the action film being shot.

Now, the 42-feet tall Kali statue is being brought to Itahari from Kolkata, India, and filming is being done. It is said that the statue built by Kaligarh in India is being used for the climax scene.

Director Sen said that the statue was brought from India after it was not found in Nepal. ‘For the film, we needed a huge statue of Kalimata,’ he said, ‘we went to Kolkata, India and together with Kushal Kaligarh there, we built a 42-foot statue.’

After placing the statue, it has given a new identity to Budhasubba Maidan located in Hasina Wetlands of Morang. This place, known as ‘Kalichaur’, came into the limelight before the filming was completed. The director said that the stage built in this area and more than 200 stalls provide employment opportunities to the local people and a mini market has been put into operation.

According to Sen, the shooting is about to be completed. He said that the performance date will be announced after the filming is over. A team of 30 people under the leadership of South Indian action choreographer Standar Sam is using state-of-the-art technology to make the action scenes exciting.

’12 Villages’ fame Sameer Bhatt is playing the lead role in this political film. Presented by Sen’s Asusen Films Pvt Ltd, Pawan Bradford is the producer and Prem Puri is the co-producer.
