Kathmandu. A team of Chinese filmmakers visiting Nepal and the Film Development Board held a bilateral discussion on film release, cultural exchange and technology transfer on Thursday.
The agenda was discussed between the board chairman Dinesh DC and the team led by Xu Yang, director of the International Department of China Film Administration.
Chairman DC informed that there was a discussion about the possibility of showing Nepali films in China and Chinese films in Nepal and making films in joint investment. He said that there was also talk about technology transfer and training to Nepali filmmakers.
The DC said that there was a discussion about strengthening the cultural exchange between the two countries. According to him, Director Yang said that he will coordinate with the Chinese government to implement the agenda presented by Nepal.
Oben Young, the vice president of Tiger Pictures Entertainment, a large film production company in China, asked the board for pitching their plans at the Hong Kong Film Mart. Young asked to put these things in a festival in China along with Hong Kong Mart.
A 14-member Chinese delegation participated in the working room of President DC. On this occasion, a book containing information about the best film shooting destinations in Nepal was provided by the board.
The Chinese team arrived in Kathmandu to participate in the ‘China Film Day’ organized at QFX’s Shadow Center on Thursday. Head of Nepal Culture and Film Academy KP Pathak informed that the team is scheduled to go to Dhaka, Bangladesh on Thursday night to participate in the Dhaka Film Festival.
