Kathmandu. The Film Development Board has said that it will help Nepali managers of foreign films to be shot in Nepal. In a ceremony held at the Film Development Board, Secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Radhika Aryal and Board President Dinesh DC listened to the complaints made by Nepali managers of foreign film shootings.
About 30 facilitators who were working on the shooting of foreign films in Nepal had lodged a complaint with the concerned authorities. They complained that the complicated process of the government is hindering the development of Nepal as a filming destination for foreign films.
They complained about the hassle of reaching different government agencies, fees and other complaints. After listening to everyone’s suggestions, Communication Secretary Aryal said that initiatives can be taken to solve the problem through the board’s one-door policy and that they are serious about it.
On the occasion, it was also said that initiatives will be taken to do the drone license process from the board. On that occasion, the participants suggested to proceed to solve the problem through the one-door policy of the board.
According to the Board, the relationship between the technical and management has been discussed regarding the increase in the number of filming of story, web series and documentary films in Nepal recently. It is said that the program was organized with the aim of listening to the problems faced by the stakeholders, increasing the number of film shootings, and collecting suggestions and complaints to solve the problems. The program was organized by the ministry and facilitated by the board.
